I spoke to a friend from India last night about my upcoming trip to India. I have planned to go to Mumbai for New Year’s. When I mentioned to him that celebration might now be in question, he said to me, “Mihir, it’s Mumbai. The city will the same as it was last week in a week.” If nothing else, resilience.

i just spent the last hour driving around/running around berkeley honking the horn and yelling obama out of the car with some people. hundreds of people were in the streets and everyone cheered us on. there was even a guy in a convertible with a triangle. and then we got out and joined a crowd of about 200 and started chanting obama and stopped all but one lane of traffic and as everyone drove...
